The electric utility industry is evolving - and so must the way we train and prepare its workforce. That’s why this year’s conference theme, “Elevate, Engage, Evolve: Adapting Today’s Training for Tomorrow’s Workforce,” focuses on the future of utility training and how we can improve safety, learning, and engagement.

We’re inviting leaders, educators, and innovators in the electric utility field to submit presentation proposals that align with this mission.

Speaker submissions are due by: July 1st, 2025

Apprenticeship and workforce development

Training technology and tools

Emerging trends in utility work and education

Modern instructional design rooted in adult learning

Terms and Conditions for Speaker Submission

By submitting a proposal to speak at the 2026 Trainers Conference, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms: 1. Original Content and Rights Submitted presentations must be original to the speaker and not infringe upon any copyright or intellectual property rights. Speakers retain ownership of their presentation materials but grant the conference organizers the right to record sessions (audio/video) and distribute materials to attendees, with prior written consent where applicable. 2. Educational Focus All presentations must be educational and relevant to the conference theme and audience. Sales pitches or promotional content are not permitted. Mentions of sponsor support are allowed with appropriate context. 3. Speaker Selection and Notification Submission of a proposal does not guarantee selection. All proposals will be reviewed by the conference committee based on topic relevance, quality, and alignment with the goals of the 2026 Trainers Conference. Selected speakers will be contacted with an official agreement and additional event information. 4. Speaker Commitments Selected speakers agree to: • Deliver their presentation at the scheduled date and time • Submit any required presentation materials (slides, handouts, etc.) by the stated deadline • Participate in any required preparatory calls or technical checks • Notify the conference team as early as possible in the event of cancellation and assist, if possible, in identifying a suitable replacement (subject to approval) 5. Compensation and Expenses Speaking engagements are generally offered without a fee. However, the conference organizer may provide travel, lodging or meal reimbursements in accordance with the official speaker agreement. Receipts are required for any approved reimbursements. 6. Recording and Distribution By participating, speakers grant permission for the conference to record their sessions and use recordings and photos for promotional, educational, or archival purposes, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. 7. Conduct and Professionalism Speakers are expected to uphold professional standards and comply with the event’s code of conduct. This includes fostering a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment. 8. Agreement to Terms If selected, speakers will be required to sign a formal speaker agreement outlining detailed obligations, compensation terms, speaker intellectual property rights, and other conditions related to participation.
