  • Gretchen Johnson - Keynote

    As Chief Executive Officer of DavinciSKY Group, INC, partner owner of OneSpan, and DaVinciEnergy Power, LLC, Gretchen enjoys assisting utilities with aerial support regarding reliability and the inspection process.

    She has over 25 years of experience in aerial and ground-based inspections, maintenance, and construction in the transmission sector. Helicopter and UAS acquisitions are the primary focus. A champion for advanced data collection imagery, Gretchen believes data asset management is the key driver to ensure that utilities have complete visibility into what exists on their grid.

    Gretchen currently serves on the NERC Board and IEEE Committee. She is a member of HAI, Women in Technology International, WBENC, and the American Business Women's Association.

    Gretchen is a native of Cumming Georgia. She graduated from Georgia Tech with her Electrical Engineering degree and MBA. Gretchen also holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia in Education.

  • Kenneth Lulow

    Ken Lulow is a third-generation line worker with over 25 years of experience in the electric utility industry. He completed his line apprenticeship in 2003 through the NW Line JATC, earning his journey-level credentials. For the next 13 years, Ken worked across the Northwest as a construction line worker, excelling in various roles, including journey-level line worker and line crew foreman.

    Ken's passion for empowering others led him to establish Line Worker Solutions, a resource aimed at providing line workers with access to educational training and support. Although this dream has taken a backseat for now, Ken continues to serve as an electric operations consultant and trainer, striving to inspire positive impact in every organization he partners with and every individual he works with. He is committed to encouraging others to achieve their personal success while adopting a visionary approach to preparing the next generation of electrical utility professionals for success and innovation. Ken also holds a Master Trainer certification through ATD, further underscoring his dedication to excellence in training and development.

  • Will Duniven, CLCP

    Will began his career as a meter reader at the former Stamford Electric Cooperative, (now BCEC) in 1997 and progressed through the lineman ranks before earning his CLCP (Certified Loss Control Professional) certificate and becoming a safety coordinator. Will also gained experience at another electric co-op as an office manager before coming back to BCEC in 2014 as a job training coordinator then serving as the job training and HR administrator, before his promotion to VP of Operations in 2022. He holds an Associate of Applied Science in Electrical Distribution and Transmission Technology from South Plains College in Levelland, TX, and is pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration degree through Wayland Baptist University in Lubbock, TX. Will is passionate about safety, training, working with purpose, and serving others to help them fulfill their purpose. Will and his family reside near Sweetwater, TX and are involved with their three children's activities as well as with their church family.

  • Robert Pippin, CLCP

    With a steadfast commitment to safety and over two decades of experience, Robert has become a pivotal figure in the utility industry. He began his career in the utility industry as an apprentice lineman in 2002 with Big Country Electric Cooperative (BCEC). His dedication and drive led him to transition into the engineering department, where he further honed his skill set. In 2012, Robert took on a pivotal role as the Safety and Training Coordinator, demonstrating his commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

    In 2016, Robert earned his Certified Loss Control Professional (CLCP) designation, reinforcing his expertise in safety management. Currently, he serves as the Safety & Training Manager at BCEC, where he is passionate about advancing safety knowledge among employees. Robert is dedicated to developing comprehensive training programs that educate and empower all team members, ensuring that safety and training remains a top priority within the organization. Through his leadership and commitment, Robert continues to make an impact in promoting a culture of safety at Big Country Electric Cooperative.

  • Dwight Miller, CLCP, CUSP

    Dwight Miller began working on the line crew 39 years ago where he witnessed two electrical contact accidents in his first 18 months, one resulting in his need to perform a pole top rescue. These two incidents had a profound impact on his career, so after working the lines for 22 years he has dedicated his last 17 years to full-time safety and training. As time permits, he writes articles for Incident Prevention magazine and speaks at conferences and to rural electric cooperative groups across the nation on technical and human performance safety topics. He currently serves Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives as statewide director of safety training and loss prevention, where he is committed to promoting a culture where lineworkers think, integrity is held high, and safety is non-negotiable.

  • James McGowan, CSP

    James is an internationally recognized safety trainer with more than 40 years of combined experience working in many roles. These include Journeyman lineman, lineman apprenticeship trainer, and safety/training program developer. He is a subject matter expert in all aspects of the power transmission and distribution industry, as well as a contributing member of various technical advisory groups. He’s been a director of corporate safety & training and a management and leadership trainer. He was the Chairman of the Electrical Transmission & Distribution Partnership [ET&D] training task team, Task Team II, and he led the development, implementation, and subsequent delivery of the ET&D Partnership’s industry-specific OSHA 10-hour construction outreach training program, and the Supervisory Leadership Outreach Training, (also known as the OSHA 20-hour).

  • Wendy Ellen, ASP, PMP

    Wendy Ellen has over 15 years of experience in the field of Environmental Health & Safety supporting electric generation, transmission and distribution. She began her career in the utility industry as a chemist for one of Austin Energy’s natural gas fired conventional steam plants. Her background includes machinery health monitoring through oil and dissolved gas analysis, asbestos and lead abatement, mold remediation, environmental policy and regulatory compliance and occupational health and safety. She currently serves as Austin Energy’s Occupational Health & Safety Manager. Her team leads the development and implementation of safety & industrial hygiene programs throughout the utility. Believing strongly in the correlation between a highly trained and educated workforce and a safer workforce she devotes much of her time to promoting and advancing safety and technical training.

  • Mark Forster, CUSP

    Mark Forster is a Certified Utility Safety Professional with over 30 years in the electric industry, including over 17 years working for PPL Electric Utilities, where Mark led the effort to rebuild the company's energy control process training, as well as secure an old substation facility which would be turned into a substation training facility. In June of 2022, Mark began to do consulting work for ISPC, specifically in the Substation discipline. In November of 2023, he transitioned from PPL Electric Utilities to ISPC as the Director of Operations, where he will further his ability to influence the utility industry. Mark truly enjoys sharing knowledge and teaching others, and has a very practical approach to his training delivery.

  • Mack Turner, CUSP

    Mack is Executive Director of ISPC and a Director of both SMI, LLC and T&D PowerSkills, LLC. Mack is a past Chairman of the Board for USOLN and helped to create the Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) program and credential, earning him the distinction. He has been actively involved in training and safety, on-staff for investor-owned utilities, and in safety management for a large powerline contractor. Mack recently received the John McRae Safety Leadership award by USOLN. For the past several years, through ISPC, Mack has helped hundreds of utilities and contractors become more effective in lineworker safety.

  • Kody Morris, PMP, CUSP

    Kody Morris brings more than two decades of experience in the utility industry and is currently serving as the Transmission & Distribution Manager at Lubbock Power & Light. His career spans from hands-on work as a Journeyman Lineman to overseeing diverse teams and managing large-scale operations critical to system reliability, compliance, and safety. Certified as a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP), Kody is dedicated to enhancing operational efficiency, safety, and team performance in the electric utility sector.

  • Curtis Bradley, CUSP

    Currently the VP of Safety, Quality, and Training at the Desoto Group, LLC, a weekend lineman instructor at East Central Community College, and the owner of Premier Lineman Consulting, LLC. Curtis has worked hard to obtain a BS in Occupational Safety and Health from Columbia Southern University and attained certification as a Certified Utility Safety Professional (CUSP) from USOLN.

  • Brent Jeffries

    Brent Jeffries has been with Bierer Meters for 9 years as the VP of Field Operations and Safety and Training. He's also the founder and facilitator of the nationally recognized Electrical Culture of Safety (ECO's) Linemen Safety Webinars. ECO's, now 9,500 members strong, is a monthly national Linemen Safety Webinar consisting of a grass roots nationwide coalition of Safety Professionals, freely giving back their expertise, knowledge, understanding, and experiences, all at no cost.

  • Jim Vaughn, CUSP

    Jim is a Senior Consultant with ISPC and works throughout North America assisting utilities and contractors with technical training on high-voltage systems. Jim began his career 40 years ago as an IBEW Journeyman Lineman, but for the past 20 years, Jim has worked on-staff with electric utilities, several large contractors, as well as in academia, in various roles concerning safety and training for lineworkers. Jim has numerous certifications and has been awarded the John McRae Safety Leadership award by USOLN and is a Certified Utility Safety Professional.

  • Buddy Cadwell

    Experienced Journeyman Ironworker with over 20 years of experience working at heights. Currently serving as Sales and Marketing Manager at Bashlin Industries specializing in product development through close collaboration with end users and engineering team. Passionate about innovation and safety in the utility and general industry.

  • Kenneth Pardue, COSS

    Kenneth is Vice President and General Manager for T&D PowerSkills, LLC and is a Director of SMI, LLC. Responsible for daily management and operations of T&D PowerSkills, Kenneth’s 15 years of service has allowed him to create and maintain the most effective lineworker training program in the industry. He also oversees the different delivery models for the training materials, including high definition delivery through the Learning Management System. Kenneth is a Certified Occupational Safety Specialist.

  • Jerry Havens, COSS

    Jerry is the Director of Sales for T&D PowerSkills, LLC and works with utilities, contractors and colleges on helping to establish lineworker training programs using the T&D PowerSkills program. Jerry is also instrumental in developing and updating the video-based components of the units, using his background in broadcast media. Jerry is a Certified Occupational Safety Specialist.

  • Meredith Williams

    Meredith Williams is a business leader at Utility Restoration Services, Inc., a provider of utility inspection, repair, and maintenance solutions. She specializes in optimizing processes, implementing systems, and leveraging data for strategic decision-making. With experience in Fortune 500 companies, global organizations, and private businesses, Meredith has focused on workforce planning and enhancing business operations. 

  • Chris Beach, CUSP

    Chris Beach has dedicated 18 years to CenterPoint Energy, starting as a meter reader and advancing through roles such as high-line transmission work and quality assurance contract inspection. Now serving as a Journeyman Head Line Mechanic and Skills Trainer, Chris develops training programs and syllabus for both new hires and seasoned linemen. As a Certified Utility Safety Professional, he is committed to creating a strong safety culture and ensuring that all team members are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed for success.

  • Craig Batchelor

    Craig started his career with Wilson Energy in North Carolina in 1999, working in electric distribution for 16 years. Since 2016, Craig has been with ElectriCities of North Carolina as a part of Safety and Training and has assumed the role of Manager in 2020.  As Manager of Safety and Training, Craig interacts with ElectriCities members and his team to ensure lineworkers are trained and knowledgeable through their Apprenticeship Program, Safety Schools, crew audits, safety meetings, etc. Craig aims to educate today's lineworkers in safe work practices through a hybrid learning environment to impact them tomorrow on the job site and later in the office.

  • Susanne Taylor

    Susanne joined ElectriCities of North Carolina in 2021 as an intern while completing her MBA. She has become a crucial member of the Educational Programs team, collaborating closely with the Safety and Training team to manage and deliver Safety Schools and Career Development Programs. As the Member Training and Engagement Specialist, she is a leading subject matter expert on ElectriCities' educational offerings and the technology systems that support their delivery. Susanne is passionate about implementing strategic improvements to expand these programs and observing the positive effects they have on students' careers as lineworkers.
